The Advanced Fundamentals of Electric Vehicles course is designed for technicians seeking deeper knowledge and expertise in high voltage systems of hybrid and electric vehicles. This two-day course builds on basic concepts and delves into advanced topics such as hybrid systems, special tooling, and battery reconditioning. Day one covers an overview of hybrid and electric vehicle technology, the different types of hybrids, special tools, and the reconditioning of NiMH hybrid batteries. Safety and PPE are emphasized throughout the course, with detailed sessions on high voltage system identification and major hybrid powertrain components. Day two focuses on high voltage battery systems, their thermal management, energy storage types, and electric motor functions. Practical sessions on diagnostics and troubleshooting high voltage systems are included to provide hands-on experience. The course ensures technicians are equipped with advanced skills and knowledge, with safety as a paramount focus.
